Liempde, Strijpenhof 1

- Volume in cubic meters: 1030 m3

A fantastically spacious family home with large, covered, south-facing terrace and home practice/ separate living accommodation, located in charming Liempde.
This detached, energy efficient property was built in 2004 in a 1930s style and equipped with all imaginable luxuries. Liempde is in any case a wonderful place to live, being a small, friendly town with less than 5,000 inhabitants. This property is located in a quiet, family-friendly neighbourhood without passing traffic and with its own children’s play area. There are various sports clubs and facilities all just a short walk or cycle ride away. Liempde is part of the municipality of Boxtel, within easy reach of all amenities and strategically positioned between Den Bosch, Eindhoven, Veghel and Tilburg, with all of these just a 20-to-30-minute drive away.
If you enjoy good living, this house is the ideal home for you, with its large, built-in wine fridges, whirlpool bath and huge, covered terrace with wood burning stove. The interior, with its multiple built-in wooden cupboards and stunning herringbone parquet floor creates a warm, homely atmosphere. This is a house that seems to embrace you. With no less than six bedrooms, this property would be perfect for a large family, and could even accommodate multiple generations thanks to the home practice with bathroom facilities in the detached former garage, which could easily be converted into separate living accommodation for e.g. an au pair.
Entering through the front door, you arrive in a spacious entrance hall with staircase to the upper floors. The hall leading to the living room benefits from large built-in cupboards including two Eurocave wine fridges. The beautiful herringbone floor runs through to the living room, via a stylish pivot door. The living room has underfloor heating and includes a welcoming bar and a built-in seating area in the bay window, plus ample storage. The living room also benefits from a built-in fireplace for extra warmth and cosiness. To the rear of the central living space is another sitting room with large French doors leading out to the large, covered terrace.
Also to the rear of the house is the spacious dining room, also with French doors to the terrace outside. Adjacent to the dining room is the large, fully-equipped U-shaped kitchen with stainless steel sink with macerator (Insinkerator), 5 in 1 Quooker, 5-burner gas hob with stylish Siemens extractor hood, Siemens fan oven, dishwasher and Liebherr built-in fridge. The kitchen has a robust design, with multiple wooden cabinets and stunning natural stone worktops.
Next to the kitchen is another porch with door to the outside drive. The current owners tend to use this side entrance more than the front door; via matt glass pivot doors, the side porch leads to the study at the front of the house as well as to the kitchen. The porch has a tiled floor with underfloor heating. Here there’s also a downstairs wc, with wall-mounted toilet and wash basin. The study has built-in cupboards spanning the entire width of one wall, including an extra fridge and freezer, ample storage space, and a built-in desk with multiple electricity sockets and USB charging points. Two tilt & turn windows provide plenty of natural light.
On the first floor we find the same herringbone floor with underfloor heating and more matt glass pivot doors, continuing the elegant design downstairs. There are three bedrooms, all approximately the same size (12 to 15 m2: see the floor plans). The largest bedroom, to the rear of the house, has a walk-in wardrobe and access to a large roof terrace with bangkirai decking. On the first-floor landing is another wc. The biggest surprise on this floor is the bathroom, with its palatial proportions. If you enjoy treating yourself to long, relaxing baths, this is the place for you. There’s a separate shower with side jets, a seat, a large, freestanding two-person whirlpool bath and a TV connection. The bathroom almost feels like a lounge, where you truly can lie back and relax.
A staircase leads up to the second floor, with three extra (bed)rooms plus a chillout room/laundry room under the sloping roof, and a second, light and airy bathroom with underfloor heating, walk-in shower, wall-mounted toilet and double wash basin. This attic floor would be perfect for one or two teenagers who are keen to have their own space. That said, you could also convert these rooms into a home office, home gym and/or play room. The laundry room has connections for washing machine and dryer, and houses the central heating boiler (Nefit Ecomline HR Exellent, circa 2003/2004) and the mechanical ventilation unit.
Before we look at the garden, let’s first take a look at the extra accommodation outside: the former garage at the end of the drive, currently being used as a home practice. This building has double doors at the front and two regular doors on the garden side. There are currently three main areas inside: a waiting room and two practice rooms, but also a basic kitchen, a wc and a shower. You could keep this space as a home practice or convert it into an office, or alternatively convert it back into a garage. Another option, given the presence of all necessary connections (water, electricity etc.), would be to create an entirely self-contained, wheelchair friendly annex as accommodation for elderly relatives or others like an au pair. This building has its own heating boiler and underfloor heating throughout. In short: the options here are endless. It all depends on your wishes and needs.
Now let’s look at the outside space. To the left of the house is the drive with charging point for an electric car. To the right is a path with access to the rear garden through a wooden door. Immediately behind is the bicycle shed and woodstore. Spanning the entire width of the house at the back is a covered terrace with skylights in the roof, spots, a permanent outdoor heater, various outdoor electric sockets and a connection point for TV or beamer. There’s also a real wood burning stove. The fully enclosed garden is attractively planted with both evergreen and flowering plants and shrubs, a lawn, a chicken coop and a side terrace with hot tub (available with the sale). This south facing garden is the perfect place to enjoy many hours outdoors in good company.
Finally, some technical points. The property is energy efficient (energy label A), with superb insulation, HR++ insulating double glazing in wooden frames and 23 solar panels (installed in 2013) on the roof of the house and the garage. The house has a central vacuum cleaning system and smoke detectors.
